Créations Verbois of Rivière-du-Loup, a company owned by five shareholders, including two women, has received US$523,104 in financial support for the Quebec regions from Canada Economic Development (CED).
This support from CED will enable the company to acquire and install powerful production facilities. “We are delighted to have CED’s support for Créations Verbois’ automation project. Thanks to this financial support, we can integrate a new numerically controlled machine, which is loaded and unloaded by a 100% autonomous robotic cell,” explains Créations Verbois Managing Director, Marie-Ève D’Amours.
This new equipment will allow the company to increase its production capacity for machining solid wood panels, creating even more opportunities for product development. Créations Verbois specializes in the design and manufacture of contemporary furniture in solid wood, glass and brushed aluminium. In June 2021, the company’s shares were sold to a group of entrepreneurs, including two women under the age of 40.
Marie-Ève D’Amours is a shareholder and managing director of the company, while Aglaée Côté is sales and service director.
“Our government is committed to supporting the growth of Canadian businesses and the economic diversification of communities, and this cannot be accomplished without the vital contribution of our women entrepreneurs. Supporting women in Quebec who are pursuing the entrepreneurship journey fuels the inclusive growth of our regional economies and paves the way for future prosperity. Small and medium-sized companies like Créations Verbois are important drivers of our economy and our communities and I am delighted that the CED is supporting this booming company’s project. The success and side effects of this project will contribute to the economic vitality of Rivière-du-Loup and the greater Bas-Saint-Laurent region,” explains Pascale St-Onge, Minister in charge of IBD.
