The Filoup Club at the Canadian Indoor Championships

Sixteen athletes from the Filoup Club in Rivière-du-Loup were in Saint-John, New Brunswick this past weekend. They competed in the Canadian U16-U18 and U20 Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Louperivoise delegation returned home with nine medals and three Canadian Championships.

In the U16 women, Anabelle Larouche collected 2 individual medals in the long jump and 60m hurdles. She was then crowned Canadian champion in the 4x200m relay with her compatriots Laura André, Emma Dubé and Juliette Dionne.

The latter did the same by taking a second gold medal in the 4x400m relay, this time accompanied by Laura André, Mathilde Boucher Gaudreau and Rose-Marie Michaud from the Coubertin Club. Juliette also won a bronze medal in the long jump.

In the weight competition, Emma Dubé is Canadian runner-up, while Joalie Tanguay from Rivière-Bleue wins the bronze medal.

In the U16 boys, Henri Loiseau, one of our youngest athletes, took 3rd place in the long jump with a very good jump of 4m69.

Among the U18 women, Odélie Drapeau, who earned a spot on the Quebec U18 team, finished 4th in the 400m and 7th in the 800m.

While still under 18, the men clinched the title of Canadian Champion in the 4x400m relay, a team made up of Félix Lacombe, Gabriel Massé, Léo Michaud and Éli Chartrand from Club Coubertin.
