Michel Bergeron believes Kirby Dach will become Canada’s first middle player in the next few years.
In his Without Net post, presented Wednesday night during the break in the Penguins-Avalanche meeting, the analyst asserted that the Habs had struck a stroke of genius in acquiring the Blackhawks from Chicago. “When I look at his ability, his ability to protect the puck and his disappointing skating, I don’t take anything away from Nick Suzuki, but Dach represents the qualities of a good center player and he also has the physique.”
Additionally, Michel Bergeron commented on Martin St-Louis’ decision to penalize Jonathan Drouin during Saturday’s game against the Lightning. “I think we’ve made a big deal with all of this. That we left him on the bench for an entire meeting in Tampa Bay is a bit of a humiliation.
According to the former head coach, Martin St-Louis has set a precedent and needs to keep the hard line. “Every time he asks for a meeting, Suzuki must not be late because he has to make decisions.”
