Canada facilitates the issuance of the temporary visa

Canada does not want to lose its status as an immigration country. To achieve this, the Canadian government intends to expedite the procedures for entry into its territory. This is why Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wants temporary visa issuance to be easier for applicants from different countries around the world.

Faced with delays in reviewing applications for temporary visas, also known as tourist or visitor visas, the Canadian government has decided to act. On Friday, February 10, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wants to make it easier for applicants to apply for a temporary visa at a meeting with nursing students from Algonquin College in Ottawa.

Most importantly, the Prime Minister wants Canada’s immigration system to be less concerned about the risks of a foreign national staying in the country after their visa’s expiration date. “Let’s face it, the system is still based on the applicant’s ability to prove that if they come here they will not stay in the country. It’s easier for them to convince the authorities to get a visa if he has a good job, a house and a good status at home,” Justin Trudeau was quoted as saying by Canadian media.

Obtaining a temporary visa for Canada: the Prime Minister’s promises

“We have to stop saying that people who choose to stay are bad people, that it’s not a good thing,” he said in response to a foreign student who failed to bring his mother to Canada because he did not have a temporary visa. “Our Secretary of Immigration, Sean Fraser, is working hard to change the way we view immigration and make sure people settle here,” he added.

The prime minister admitted to the student that the immigration authorities had made a mistake in refusing her mother a temporary visa. “For Canadians it would seem like an injustice if there was a detour to get a visa. You have to find a balance. But I understand you. Your mother should have had the right to visit you,” admits Justin Trudeau.

To address the delays in processing the files of newcomers to Canada, the government has decided to take action. He recently laid out a plan to modernize the immigration system. This plan, with a budget of US$85 million, will make it possible to reduce processing times for various applications such as applications for temporary visas, study permits, work permits and permanent residence card extensions.
