“I have a lot of credit to give to St-Louis and Hughes”

The Montreal Canadiens have lost their last six games, but there’s still a smile on the team.

It’s quite a peculiar situation in the National Hockey League, where winning is usually very important, but the fans seem to accept and understand the plan.

“I have to give a lot of credit to Martin St-Louis and Kent Hughes for selling their salad,” Michel Therrien admitted on Monday JiC.

“The owner [Geoff Molson] have to go there too. We’ve been in the lowlands for two years, but if we don’t see any improvement in three or four years, you have to think about your partners. If you just play to play, the world’s interest will surely diminish.

Still, Therrien understands the situation the CH head coach is in very well.

“I put myself in St. Louis’ shoes … he doesn’t have a big club,” he said. He looks at his squad, the squad on the other side and he just hopes his boys keep up and it’s a close game. It’s his reality, don’t blame him.
