Dubois and the Jets get the Canucks

The Jets are targeting five straight wins today when the Vancouver Canucks visit Winnipeg.

This all-Canadian duel will be televised at 2:30 p.m. on TVA Sports and on TVA Sports Direct.

Incidentally, the Jets’ streak began on December 29 with a win over… the Canucks. In fact, today’s duel will be the third in less than a month between these two rivals.

The Jets, battling for the top spot in the Central Division, won the first two.

The Canucks are breathing easier after Thursday’s win over the Avalanche, who ended a three-lost slide. But Vancouver with 37 points only has a vague glimmer of hope to enter the fight for a place in the playoffs. Bruce Boudreau’s men would have to have a good big win streak to aspire to that.

The Jets, who are definitely having a great season so far, are driven offensively by three men: Quebec’s Pierre-Luc Dubois and his 43 points, defenseman Josh Morrissey, who is carving a season worthy of a Norris Trophy nomination, and the indispensable Kyle Connor, who has five goals and nine assists in his last ten games.

However, the Canucks have something to answer for with Elias Pettersson and Bo Horvat both having interesting seasons offensively.

Two teams trying to slow down their slide

Things are not looking good for the Coyotes and Penguins as both teams are currently going through a losing streak.

However, one of those two teams will finish their slide today when they go head-to-head in Tempe, Arizona.

The game will be broadcast on TVA Sports and on TVA Sports Direct from 7pm today.

For the Coyotes, the series means four losses, all lost games during a stay abroad. It’s even worse for Pittsburgh: The band Sidney Crosby has lost their last six games.

“No one likes to lose. But how we handle that adversity will define our team, Crosby said after the last of those losses. We can hang our heads and be frustrated, or we can do something about it. I like the idea that we can find solutions.”

After all, the Penguins can look forward to another solid season from their captain, who has 45 points in 38 games so far.
