As deliveries of the VF8 models begin in Canada, Vinfast has revealed more details on the upcoming VF6 and VF7 models.
Compact and electric
Both are electric SUVs offered in Eco and Plus trim levels. The VF6 will have a maximum range of 399 kilometers (WLTP) and the VF7 will have a maximum range of 450 kilometers (WLTP).
A smaller VF6
The VF6 is slightly shorter and slightly wider than the Chevrolet Bolt EUV. This model will be equipped with a 59.6 kWh battery that will allow a range of up to 399 kilometers in the Eco version and 381 kilometers in the Plus version. This difference is down to wheel size and power level, as the Eco has 17-inch wheels and 174 hp, while the Plus has 19-inch rims and 201 hp. The model will only have front-wheel drive.
The VF7
This model is taller, sitting between the Volvo XC40 Recharge and Toyota bZ4X in length, but wider than both. The VF7 Eco will offer the same engine as the VF6 Plus with 201 hp. In the transition to the Plus version, we will add a second engine that will provide all-wheel drive and 348 hp. Despite its extra weight and power, the VF7 offers a longer range thanks to its larger 75.6kWh battery, which allows it to travel up to 450 kilometers or 431 kilometers on one charge for the Eco and Eco versions than the VF6.
No release date yet
Both electric SUVs will feature advanced driver assistance technologies such as Highway Assist, semi-autonomous Level 2, Lane Centering Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control, which are standard on both levels. VinFast also states that the VF6 and VF7 Eco will come with a 12.9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, which will include a virtual assistant. The VF7 Plus will benefit from a 15-inch screen instead.
The company says pre-reservations will open for both models in March this year, but didn’t give a timeline for when it expected customer deliveries to begin.
