Closed since December 10th due the crash of a gondola, the Mont-Sainte-Anne ski area sent a follow-up email to its subscribers on Tuesday. The company is making sure everything is prepared for a safe reopening as soon as possible, but is still not giving a date.
The station must respond the requirements of the Régie du Bâtiment du Québec (RBQ), which forced the ski lifts to stop on December 16 after inspecting the mountain’s infrastructures.
Mont-Sainte-Anne (MSA) has given priority to its main chairlifts to carry out the checks required by the RBQ, i.e. without the famous cable car line for the time being. These tests would now be completed and the results would be presented shortly.

The snow cover in the ski area could at least have benefited from the forced break thanks to the colder weather of the last few days. According to the station’s email, several of the main slopes on the South Rim may be ready for an eventual reopening.
