“It’s embarrassing” – Nick Suzuki

The Montreal Canadiens’ power play is the worst in the National Hockey League with a 13.6% completion rate, and it’s been even worse lately.

Captain Nick Suzuki didn’t hide his frustration about that Wednesday night after the 4-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

“We’re not playing well enough, our powerplay is embarrassing right now,” he said unhappily.

“We don’t create chances and that destroys our momentum. We have to be better, our percentage [de réussite] is embarrassing.”

Head coach Martin St-Louis later added, supporting his young captain’s words.

“It affects our key players a lot because a power play that works gives confidence that you can carry five against five.

“The performance of our key players is therefore heavily influenced by the performance of the power game at the moment. We will keep working to find answers.
