Air Canada today announced a new service between Montreal and Fort McMurray, which will be launched in June.
For the summer of 2023, Air Canada will also be resuming services and increasing frequency on popular domestic routes as it strengthens its Canadian network amid the pandemic.
“As the national carrier, Air Canada will offer an expanded summer schedule to Canadian destinations, which will strengthen our role as a provider of critical coast-to-coast routes for Canadians,” said Mark Galardo, senior vice president – Network Planning and Revenue Management , AirCanada.
“Our new Montreal–Fort McMurray service provides easy access from eastern Canada to one of Alberta’s most important economic regions. And by carefully reopening closed routes and increasing frequencies for others, we’re improving our customers’ domestic travel options. »
Next summer, the airline will offer 97 domestic routes in 51 countries, making it “Canada’s largest airline with the largest passenger seating capacity.”
- The new service between Montreal and Fort McMurray will begin on June 20, 2023.
- Flights are operated three times a week year-round by Air Canada Rouge on a 136-seat Airbus A319 aircraft in a two-cabin configuration: Premium Rouge and Economy Class.
- With the addition of Montreal to existing service to Toronto, Air Canada will be the only airline to connect Fort McMurray non-stop with Quebec and Ontario.
