To this end, a partnership agreement was signed in virtual mode between the President of the CGEM, Chakib Alj, and the President of the Canada-Africa Chamber of Commerce, Garreth Bloor.

The meeting, held at the Kingdom’s Consulate General headquarters in Toronto, is part of a working and outreach trip between CGEM, represented by the Morocco-Canada Business Council, and business organizations in this city in the province of Ontario.

The meeting was attended by the President of the said Council, Rafik Kamal Lahlou, the President of the Canadian Council on Africa, Nola Kianza, the President of the Canada-Africa Chamber of Commerce in Toronto, Garreth Bloor, and the President of the organization CasaFoundation, Olutoyin Oyelade.

Several Moroccan-Canadian businessmen and investors among members of the Moroccan Jewish and Muslim diaspora in Toronto attended the meeting. According to a press release from the Moroccan Consulate General in Toronto, the meeting focused in particular on examining possibilities for cooperation, methods of interaction between the different institutions and ways to contribute to the development of an institutional framework to promote exchanges, exchange experiences and promote fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation .

On that occasion, the Moroccan Consul General in Toronto, Rachid Zein, welcomed the commitment of the different parties to join their efforts to take advantage of Morocco’s favorable business climate, as well as the potential for investment and incentives set up to encourage foreign investment both in the Kingdom and in Africa to support and encourage.

The participants agreed to organize a trade mission to Morocco next year for the benefit of Canadian economic operators and business people.

Established in 1994, the Canada-Africa Chamber of Commerce is based in Toronto and has members from across Canada and various African countries. It aims to promote trade, business and investment between Canada and Africa, particularly through networking and information-sharing opportunities.
