According to an Accenture survey, nearly 4% of Quebecers and 10% of Canadians aged 18-24 plan to buy a gift in the Metaverse as the holiday season approaches.

According to the survey, virtual shopping is particularly appealing to Gen Z this year, as 13% of their members nationwide say they have a non-fungible token (NFT) or digital asset on their wish list.

Conversely, 77% of Quebecers expect to spend the same amount compared to 2021.

Overall, Canadians expect to spend $643 over the holiday, up slightly from last year ($635).

Long-term, more than half (52%) of Canadian consumers plan to spend less in the next six to 12 months.
