The twenties for Mathurin in a Pacers win

Quebec’s Bennedict Mathurin was a key contributor to the Indiana Pacers’ 125-113 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday at the Spectrum Center with a total of 20 points.

The freshman topped his team’s points for many minutes in that game, but ended up being the second most productive as Tyrese Haliburton led by 22 points.

Mathurin was still doing well considering he only played 21:44 and also added three rebounds.

Myles Turner also helped the day’s winners with the same score as his Belle Province teammate, in addition to 10 rebounds.

LaMelo Ball and PJ Washington were crowd favorites with 26 and 24 points, respectively, but to no avail.

Sleeps to support ‘SGA’ in Thunder win

In Washington, Quebec star Luguentz Dort played another sidekick for Canadian star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 121-120 win over the Wizards.

“SGA” made his opponents pay again and surpassed 40 points for the first time this season, amassing 42 on top of his six rebounds and seven assists. The Maple Leaf representative is fast becoming the star of the NBA, averaging 31.5 points per game.

There helped with 16 extra points, the second-highest total by a Thunder player after Gilgeous-Alexander.

Kristaps Porzingis and Bradley Beal were the most productive with the Wizards with 27 and 25 points, respectively.

The Raptors save the third quarter

In Toronto, the Raptors had a great third quarter to defeat the Miami Heat 112-104.

Six points down at halftime, the crowd favorites appeared to be enjoying the short break, scoring 21 unanswered points on their return to the field to eventually dominate the third quarter 31-19.

Still without the injured Pascal Siakam, the Raptors could count on the offensive contribution of OG Anunoby, who scored 32 points while maintaining an excellent 72.2% efficiency in his shot attempts, in addition to 10 rebounds. Fred VanVleet and Scottie Barnes helped him with 23 and 19 points, respectively.

Quebec’s Chris Boucher hit a double-double on the field in exactly 25 minutes with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Montreal’s Khem Birch was also in action for just over seven minutes, adding two meager points.

Former Raptors Kyle Lowry, who received another warm welcome from Toronto fans, was down 19 points.

Nick Nurse’s men will now travel to Atlanta where they will face the Hawks on Saturday.
