Former Hockey Canada President and CEO Bob Nicholson is due to appear before the Canadian Heritage Standing Committee on Tuesday.
Nicholson has been part of the management of the Edmonton Oilers since 2014 and has been the president of the Alberta roster since 2019.
He was called before the parliamentary committee as part of a Hockey Canada inquiry.
The Sports Federation of Canada has been in turmoil for several months over its handling of sexual assault allegations against players from its former junior teams, including the 2018 men’s team.

An investigation has been launched after it was revealed the organization had quietly settled a lawsuit involving a woman who claimed she was sexually assaulted by members of the 2018 junior men’s team at the Hockey Canada Gala in London, Utah, Ontario earlier this year been.
In addition, the Halifax Police Department is investigating an alleged sexual assault involving members of the 2003 junior team that is said to have taken place in Nova Scotia. None of these claims have been proven in court.
Nicholson served as head of Hockey Canada from 1998 to 2014.
Hockey Canada senior vice president Pat McLaughlin is also scheduled to appear before the Canadian Heritage Standing Committee on Tuesday.
Hockey Canada’s scrutiny was heightened when it was revealed that the organization was using a secret settlement fund totaling millions of dollars, mostly from player membership dues, for uninsured payments, including settling sexual assault claims.
