The runners had the choice between distances of five and ten kilometers. The event’s mandate is to bring Canadians and the Canadian Armed Forces together in a spirit of solidarity and camaraderie.
The race also raises funds for Soldier On, a program that helps sick or injured members and veterans recover. As well as funding the Support Our Troops organization which provides assistance to the armed forces and their families.
This is an opportunity for Canadians to come and thank the men and women in uniform who do much for us in Canada and in other countries.

Overall, organizers estimated that around 5,000 people took part in the race in person, with another 5,000 virtually.
This fifteenth race marks the 75th anniversary of the Canadian Rangers, a sub-group of the Canadian Army Reserve, specifies Dennis Noël, Public Affairs Officer at Canadian Armed Forces Headquarters.

The organizers have already confirmed the holding of a sixteenth race, scheduled to take place in September 2023.
