BLG provides strategic and legal advice to clients in the area of ​​information technology and data protection law through its data protection and data protection practice group. This sectoral group, led by Me(s) Éloïse Gratton and Elisa Henry, is recognized nationally as a leader in this field; it is also the most important in this jurisdiction in Quebec.

In order to respond to the strong growth of the Montreal Group, we are looking for an advanced lawyer interested in working in this exciting field and with a focus on serving large Canadian and American companies. The position to be filled is interesting for applicants who intend to devote themselves to a specialized practice in the field of privacy and personal data protection and technology law. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience primarily in relation to legal, operational and ethical issues relating to privacy, cyber security, anti-spam legislation and information including drafting and negotiating licenses, cloud computing and IT outsourcing contracts.

As part of his duties, this professional will advise clients strategically on their new projects, products, practices and technologies. With a creative mind, good business acumen and a keen interest in new technologies, the candidate must have strong communication and writing skills. He is fluent in French and English and is a distinguished member of the Barreau du Québec and/or another Canadian provincial bar. A university degree and/or membership in a foreign bar association are considered assets.
