Québec’s Félix Auger-Aliassime, ranked 8th in the world, claws his way into a new spot in the ATP rankings published on Monday after winning his third consecutive title in Basel on Sunday, while Russian Daniil Medvedev, who won him in Vienna crowned 3rd place.

At the age of 22, Auger-Aliassime continues his rise after his titles in Florence and Antwerp. With eighth place, he recaptured the best result of his career, which he had already achieved in August.

Auger-Aliassime’s compatriot Denis Shapovalov is 16th, up three places after reaching the final of the Vienna tournament.

Medvedev climbs it on the third step of the standings, solidly dominated by Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in front of his compatriot Rafael Nadal.

The former world No. 1 had dropped to 4th in September after knocking out in the round of 16 at the US Open. The Russian ousted the Norwegian Casper Ruud.

Pole Hubert Hurkacz takes 10th place at the expense of American Taylor Fritz.

The unfortunate rival of Auger-Aliassime in the final in Basel, the Dane Holger Rune (19), reached the top 20 thanks to a jump of seven places. His 18th place is the best result of his career.

Finally, Austria’s Dominic Thiem, former world No. 3, returns to the top 100 up 13 places. The 29-year-old, winner of the 2020 US Open, is 100.
