Tyler Shandro’s disciplinary hearing has been postponed to January

Tyler Shandro was originally scheduled to appear before the bar committee on October 17-19, but the hearing was adjourned this month.

Tyler Shandro, a lawyer, is being investigated over three allegations of unprofessional conduct while he was Health Secretary. He held this position from April 2019 to September 2021.

He is accused of yelling at a doctor in Calgary in March 2020 while he was in his driveway with his children. Tyler Shandro reportedly got angry because the man posted a meme on social media that offended him.

The second complaint alleges that Tyler Shandro used his position as Minister to obtain private telephone numbers from individuals and used that information to contact one or more of them outside normal working hours.

The third complaint alleges that Tyler Shandro responded to an email sent to his wife, threatening to ask authorities to investigate the email’s author unless future communications were sent directly to him.

The Law Society declined to explain why the disciplinary hearing was postponed. It must take place from January 24th to 26th.
