Musician Beck ends Arcade Fire’s North American tour

TORONTO – Entertainment company Live Nation has confirmed that American musician Beck will no longer be performing for Arcade Fire’s “We” North American tour, which begins in late October.

A Live Nation spokesperson gave no reason for Beck’s cancellation, saying the show will be opened by Haitian band Boukman Eksperyans instead.

Canadian musician Leslie Feist announced in early September that she was ending the Arcade Fire tour after allegations of sexual misconduct against singer Win Butler surfaced.

Ms. Feist was the opening act for the band’s European tour, which kicked off in Dublin at the end of August.

The concerts came just days after online music magazine Pitchfork published an article in late August that claimed Win Butler had had inappropriate sexual interactions with four people.

In a statement, Mr Butler denied the allegations, saying all encounters were between consenting adults and he had never touched a woman against her will or requested sexual favors.

The band is scheduled to play in Washington on October 27th, with stops in Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto before playing their final concert of the year in Montreal on December 3rd.
