The names of Quebec goaltender Louis Domingue and Montreal Canadiens forward Nate Schnarr were entered in waivers on Saturday.
After signing a two-year deal with New York Rangers in the summer, Domingue is the extra man in goal behind Igor Shesterkin and Jaroslav Halak.
The 30-year-old goaltender spent most of last season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American League. However, he was recalled by the Pittsburgh Penguins late in the campaign to play two regular-season games.
Due to injury, he also had to defend the team’s net in the playoffs and gave them a chance by winning three of their six games. The Pens, on the other hand, were eliminated in the first round by the New York Rangers.
In his National League career, Domingue is 59-60-10 in 142 games, with a .905 percent save and a 3.04 goals against goals conceded average.
Schnarr is a center the Habs took over from goaltender Andrew Hammond last season. The Ontarian joined Laval Rocket where he had 10 points in 20 games.
Goaltender Michael Hutchinson (Vegas Golden Knights) also found himself in waivers on Saturday.
