CH will want to bounce back from Patrick Roy against the Islanders

After a disappointing performance against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday, CH will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday against the New York Islanders.

  • The meet will be broadcast on TVA Sports starting at 7 p.m.

Cayden Primeau will get the start in front of the Habs net. In his only appearance of the season, he allowed six goals in a 4-6 loss to the Boston Bruins. Samuel Montembeault has been the trusted man in goal in CH’s last three games.

Defender Kaiden Guhle, who did not make the trip to New York, will not be there. Logan Mailloux was recalled from the Laval Rocket to compensate for the 22-year-old rearguard’s absence. The health of attacker Juraj Slafkovsky, who left team training on Friday, is also being monitored.

Jayden Struble could also play a first game this season. He was able to return to the game during the matchup against the Kings, but Martin St-Louis decided not to include him in the lineup.

Since the start of the season, the Habs have posted a 2-3-0 performance. St. Louis players lost their two games this week on Monday against the Pittsburgh Penguins and on Thursday against the Kings.

Patrick Roy’s Islanders lost their last game 1-0 in overtime to the St. Louis Blues on Thursday.
