If Logan Mailloux enlivened the Laval Rocket’s opening game with four points, Luke Tuch provided the spectacle by taking the gloves off against the resilient Jeffrey Viel, which in retrospect was a questionable decision.
The rookie player showed great courage in accepting the Quebec fighter’s invitation to dance, but suffered several serious injuries that left him bent at the knees.

After the game, a 5-2 Rocket victory over the Providence Bruins, Tuch bore the scars of his battle. With two cotton balls to stop the bleeding in a nose that has seen better days, he looked like the perfect agitator.

Tuch, who was selected in the second round by CH in the 2020 draft, is starting his first full season with the Rocket. He played two games at Laval at the end of last year’s season after finishing his NCAA career at Boston University.
