The Montreal Canadiens, the first pick in the last draft, played his first organized game since the ankle injury he sustained in the MHL playoffs, Russia’s most important junior tournament in the upper part.
He used his defensive cover to disguise his shot and fool the alertness of the blue team’s goalkeeper.
A few moments later, he almost scored the second goal of the game, but goalkeeper Artemi Pleshkov stole the ball with his glove.
His ankle injury does not seem to have slowed him down too much; in the pictures of his goal he appeared relaxed and fluid in his movements.
The fifth overall pick from Switzerland is currently trying to secure a place on the main team of SKA, one of the best and most complete teams in the KHL.
If he cannot break the regular alignment or is in the 13th positione As a forward, he expressed the possibility of playing in the VHL next season, and if that happens, the Canadian could also become more involved in the matter to further his arrival in North America.
He will be able to prove his skills to his bosses at the Puchkov tournament, when he will defend the colors of the Russian U23 team, of which he was appointed captain. He will also face SKA in this annual classic, which also includes other KHL teams.
