Who is the better player: Ivan Demidov or Matvei Michkov?
The question will probably never die. Both young men are excellent and both have the potential to change the face of their respective organizations.
If we ask the CH, the answer should be Demidov, considering that one was selected at number 5 in the last two drafts and the other was not. But at the same time, it must be said that there is a question of character in all this.
But hey. All this to say that everyone has their opinion on the subject… and that the Flyers’ hopes sometimes seem to be a little higher than the Montreal Canadiens’.
Here is further proof.
In Russia, a ranking of the best ice hockey players under the age of 20 has been compiled. It will not surprise you to learn that these two young talents are at the top of the rankings.
But as TVA Sports reports, this is not the case with the young Canadian at the top of the rankings from Sport Express. Michkov is first, just ahead of Demidov.
But Demidov got more votes for the first placeβ¦ π¬ https://t.co/9dAxElmjjH

With a total of 114 points, Michkov had 14 points more than Demidov. And this despite the fact that Demidov had more first votes than his compatriot. We are talking about 16 VS 15.
It was the runners-up who made the difference.
- Second place: 12 to 4 in favor of Michkov
- Third place: 8 to 3 in favour of Demidov
Also note that goaltender Evgeny Volokhin, a Canadian prospect drafted the same year as Jacob Fowler and Quentin Miller, is ranked 19th in the Russian rankings.
Anton Silayev, drafted by the Devils, completes the podium.
