Canada heroically secured its place in the semifinals of the Copa América on Friday night, and the players had a very special fan at AT&T Stadium.
Sidney Crosby traveled to Texas to cheer on his country’s soccer team as it faced Venezuela in the quarterfinals. The Maple Leaf won on penalties thanks to goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau and midfielder Ismaël Koné.

After the game, the Pittsburgh Penguins captain had the opportunity to address the players in the locker room. Proudly dressed in his maple leaf sweater, he congratulated all the players.
“I want to thank you. It was an incredible experience for me. To see this game live, with the great penalty shootout. It took a lot of courage. We are behind you and I am very proud of you,” Crosby told the attentive footballers.
