Connor Hughes moves to the Montreal Canadiens – rts.ch

Lausanne HC announces the departure of its goalkeeper Connor Hughes. The 27-year-old Swiss-Canadian will move to the Montreal Canadiens for next season. To compensate for the departure of their goalkeeper, the Vaudois Lions can continue to count on Kevin Pasche.

Born and educated in Canada, Hughes arrived in Switzerland in 2017 and joined Lausanne last summer after three seasons in Fribourg. He was one of the main architects of the Vaudois Lions’ epic journey to the National League Playoffs final, playing 18 of the series’ 19 games with a 93.3% save percentage.

The LHC gave me my chance and I am very proud to have been part of this historic season for the club. To have such an opportunity in the NHL in such an important organization as the Montreal Canadiens is simply a dream for me.“, Hugues reacted in a press release from the Vaud club.

As replacements, the LHC also announced the signing of Antoine Keller (19 years old), who trained at Genève-Servette and played in the QMJHL in Quebec last season, and Thibault Fatton (22 years old) from Lugano. They will form a trio of young goalies together with Kevin Pasche (21 years old).
