By helping the Edmonton Oilers reach the Stanley Cup Final, Corey Perry entered the National Hockey League (NHL) record books.
The 39-year-old veteran became the first player in the history of the circuit to participate in five finals wearing the uniform of so many teams.
Perry previously played the final series of a Spring Dance with the Anaheim Ducks (2007), Dallas Stars (2020), Montreal Canadiens (2021) and Tampa Bay Lightning (2022).
However, the Peterborough, Ontario native has only experienced the joy of winning the Stanley Cup once. It was with the Ducks during his very first full season in the NHL.

At the beginning of the year, few could have predicted that Perry would end up in the finals this season. The forward started this season with the Chicago Blackhawks. However, his contract with the Illinois team was terminated in November after he behaved inappropriately during a club event. Less than two months later, and with the approval of Commissioner Gary Bettman, Perry was able to join the Oilers as a free agent.
In 38 regular-season games with the Alberta team, he scored eight goals and five assists for 13 points. Perry has one assist in 13 games in the current playoffs, earning multiple press box appearances.
The Oilers will face the Florida Panthers in the 2024 final.
