The Montreal Canadiens staff seems determined to select a forward with their fifth overall pick in the next draft, and the least we can say is that the public appears to agree.
At least that’s what the results of a current, less scientific survey by TVASports.ca show.
On the question “Which of these prospects do you think CH would select as the fifth pick in the next draft?», online on our homepage from May 9th to 16th, the 4,469 respondents favored two players in particular: strikers Cayden Lindstrom and Tij Iginla, both of whom play in the Western Junior League.
Barely two votes in favor of Lindstrom separated the two young men. The other six possible options just collect crumbs.
No, the Russian Ivan Demidov was not selected. Overall, Demidov is a potential second choice for the majority of observers and has a very slim chance of falling to fifth in the draft, which would make him a pretty obvious choice for CH. However, this seems unlikely and was therefore not included in this survey.
Check out the results below and…see you on June 28th!
