If Canadian golfer Mike Weir celebrated one of the most important moments of his life with a green jacket, this time he chose the color blue.

The Ontario native married his longtime girlfriend Michelle Money in Hawaii on Sunday.

In a post on his Instagram page, he wrote: “Yesterday was a special day getting married to @michelemoney! The most beautiful soul that unites our family!”

His new wife also posted the news on her personal account in a video that mentioned “Michelle Weir” accompanied by the message: “Let me introduce myself again.” [emoji d’une bague]”.

According to the Toronto Sun, the couple met in 2016.

In 2003, Mike Weir became the first Canadian and the first remaining to win the Masters Tournament, held in Augusta, Georgia. This tournament is one of the four major tournaments in golf, along with the United States Open, the British Open and the PGA Championship.

Subsequently, “Weirzy” suffered several injuries throughout his career that affected his performance on the court. In 2015, he even revealed that he was taking a break from golf after splitting from his ex-wife Bricia Wier.

The Sarnia native gave great credibility to his relationship with his new partner in his victory at the 2021 Insperity Invitational.

“She has been by my side at every stage of my life for several years,” he said. Having him here by my side is very special. In this phase we want to win, but above all we want to enjoy the beautiful moments with our loved ones. It takes a lot of pressure off.”

Before meeting the golfer, Money had taken part in the 15th season of the American reality show “The Bachelor”, which aired in 2011.
