In Canada, a researcher searching for rare trees discovered a 1,000-year-old cedar. In the province of British Columbia, this man – a man named TJ Watt – encountered one of the oldest trees ever recorded in the region.
In an isolated forest that forms Flores Island – nestled in Clayoquot Sound, on the territory of the Ahousaht First Nation – off the west coast of Vancouver Island, this tree-loving elders made an incredible discovery this summer.
