Vision Marine Technologies Inc. announces the appointment of Dr. Philippe Couillard has been appointed independent director to the board with immediate effect. Dr. Couillard brings extensive knowledge and a broad range of experience to his new role and will be instrumental in leading Vision Marine through the next phase of growth and innovation. Dr. Couillard received his medical degree in 1979 and completed his residency in neurosurgery at the University of Montreal in 1985.

With more than 20 years of distinguished medical practice in Canada and abroad, Dr. Couillard has demonstrated a strong commitment to healthcare and public service. Dr. Couillard was Quebec’s Minister of Health from 2003 to 2008 and the 31st Premier of Quebec from 2014 to 2018. His unique career includes an impressive mix of previous experiences in transportation electrification, political, public and commercial achievements, and medical and academic achievements, positioning him as a leading authority in multiple disciplines.

As an independent director, Mr. Couillard will provide invaluable insight and strategic advice, particularly in areas consistent with his broad expertise in North American and global economics, public policy and international relations. His appointment is expected to strengthen Vision Marine’s leadership and contribute to its long-term strategic initiatives. Mr. Couillard was also appointed to the Board’s Audit Committee.
