In Quebec, for a number of years, coverage of National Hockey League games has been shared between two competing television networks, namely RDS and TVA Sports.
The two rivals play different NHL games throughout the season.
We will never see the same game on both channels.
And if, for example, highlights are used from a match broadcast on RDS then TVA Sports will take the highlights from an English speaking channel and therefore with English speaking commentators.
In short, all of this is to say that Quebec fans have no choice but to watch a game on TV in French.
It’s RDS or TVA Sports.
As for TVA Sports, the NHL recently made an announcement as to what games will be broadcast there.
This season, 272 NHL games will be broadcast on TVA Sports.

Among those 272 games to be split between TVA Sports and TVA Sports 2 are 22 CH games, 21 of which are Saturday night games.
The other game will of course be CH’s first game of the season as he faces the Maple Leafs in Toronto on October 11th.
The Habs then open their season on October 14 against the Chicago Blackhawks and Connor Bedard.
Speaking of Bedard, TVA Sports will broadcast 31 games in which he is involved.

This year, too, CH fans no longer have to ask themselves which channel is showing which Habs game.
RDS on weekdays and Sundays and TVA Sports on Saturdays and for the opening game.
TVA Sports will also be the broadcaster of the series and special events such as the All-Star Game and the Repechage.
Of the 272 games that will be broadcast on TVA Sports, it should be noted that there will be 41 games involving one of the Tkachuk brothers, Brady and Matthew, including a November 27 clash between the two.
TVA Sports will also cover 39 Edmonton Oilers games so Quebec fans can see Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in action.

In short, there will be some very good matches to watch on TVA Sports.
