Notable additions include the collection of Metadata related to encrypted messagesusing data from X to train models fromartificial intelligenceAI and the storage of biometric information (face scan) of the users of the platform.

This last part is reserved for subscribers to the paid service X Premium, formerly called Twitter Blue. People can choose to provide a government issued ID along with a portrait photo and add a layer to verify their identity on the social network.

The goal is, according to the British broadcaster BBC, who spoke to a spokesman for the social network to help X combat identity theft attempts and make the platform more secure.

X also reserves the right to terminate an individual’s account if they have been inactive for a long period of time or if the platform is subject to legal proceedings or commercial unprofitability. The previous policy, which allowed Twitter to ban any account, was less specific for that purpose.

The policy also states that X may collect employment and educational history information possible job recommendations. We can therefore assume that the platform plans to offer recruitment services soon.

These X policy updates will go into effect on September 29, according to the platform.
