Would you trade Cole Caufield to the Maple Leafs for William Nylander?
That’s what a Toronto journalist, Michael Traikos, claimed on the podcast Canadian connection that the potential return for Nylander would be astronomical should the Swede ever trade.
Traikos answered a question from a listener regarding the possibility of having a first line-up consisting of Caufield, Nick Suzuki and Nylander in Montreal.
“[En cas de transaction] Canadiens fans won’t like the comeback! I believe the names Caufield, Slafkovsky and Guhle would be in the discussions,” Traikos said.
In addition, the journalist believes that CH do not need Nylander’s services and that the club’s current core is solid.
Whoever covered the Maple Leafs National Post also warns followers.
“Nylander is a dynamic player who has a good skate and can score. But sometimes it can fade and become invisible for two weeks.”
Traikos believes the Swede is aiming for a $9-10m annual deal. He suggests the Flyers, Penguins, and Capitals as potential targets should the Maple Leafs decide to trade him.
