As the latest crop of sweet and juicy BC cherries makes its way to grocery stores and markets across the country, Canadians are being encouraged to “buy fresh, buy Canadian cherries.” The first cherry month of Canadafrom July 15th to August 15th, celebrates the quality and remarkable taste of our cherries and recognizes our brave producers.

KELOWNA, BC, July 18, 2023 /CNW/ — Cherry season in Canada well underway, as is the first edition of Cherry Month of the year Canadawhich runs from July 15 to August 15, 2023 under the motto “Buy Fresh, Buy Canadian”!

“Cherry month Canada was created to showcase the outstanding quality and flavor of Canadian cherries and to recognize the important contribution of British Columbia’s cherry growers to the agribusiness and Canadian economy,” said Sukhpaul Bal, President of the BC Cherry Association. “We invite all Canadians to join us in celebrating this delicious fruit, and we encourage consumers across the country to ask their grocers about BC sweet cherries this season,” added Mr. Bal.

Our cherries are known for their sweet taste, intense color and firm texture. When buying cherries, choose firm, evenly colored fruit with a green stem.
