Blue Jays are corrected at home

The Toronto Blue Jays came down to earth quite abruptly on Friday after defeating the Boston Red Sox. The Los Angeles Angels mocked the crowd favorite Friday at Rogers Center 12-0. See highlights of the encounter in the video above.

Transferred from the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier this month, shooter Mitch White (1-4) had shown great things in his first appearances on the Jays’ mound. However, we will return to that of the day.

Used as a starting pitcher, White allowed eight runs with seven hits in five innings of work. However, he was mostly challenged in the same round: the second.

David Fletcher got the ball rolling into left field with a one-run double before crossing the plate himself with Andrew Velazquez with a triple from versatile Japan’s Shohei Ohtani. Luis Renfigo then produced the fifth point of his thanks to a single.

Velazquez added a solo long ball in the next inning and Mike Trout hit a two-run homer in the eighth.

Outfielder Jo Adell stretched out his arms in the seventh and ninth innings to put on the icing on the cake.

Meanwhile, the Jays were struggling to reach the trails. Reid Detmers (5-4) allowed just four strikes to the safer spot in five and a half innings.

Canada’s only major league team had a golden chance to score in the eighth inning but couldn’t send home a single runner with loaded bases.

In addition, outfielder Tesocar Hernandez had to leave the game with a bruise on his left foot.

John Schneider’s men will hardly be able to forget this devastating defeat, because they meet the Angels for the second duel of this series on Saturday.
