The government will pay compensation of US$1,500 per primary residence to people who have been evacuated due to the wildfires.
Prime Minister François Legault confirmed this on Friday morning in the corridors of Parliament.

The 13,520 evacuees can access their compensation from June 14 on the quebec.ca/aid-disaster website.
A one-time payment will be made. Municipalities can claim all costs for fires and all costs are reimbursed.
