Canada Day: Technology to replace fireworks

The Canada Day drone and light shows come at just the right time as many parts of the country grapple with raging wildfires.

With these aircraft, images that move to the sound of music are projected into the sky.

“The reason it’s so popular is because it’s new, different and modern. We can reproduce perfect images in the sky,” said Jeff Clarmo, Founder and CEO of North Star – Canada’s largest drone and fireworks show company.

Among the communities that have opted for fireworks replacements is the city of Wakefield, which typically draws thousands of people to its Canada Day fireworks display. This year, in the La Pêche sector, the city will instead present a drone show, a solution with less impact on neighboring communities, according to a report globe and mail.

“Each year, after a fireworks display, there is an abundance of social media posts about the loss of animals. People’s pets are one thing, but then you start thinking about nature and everything that lives in the surrounding forests and like those big bangs and Wow And pow They frighten everything from deer to bears to wolves and foxes,” Canada Day Wakefield coordinator Carly Wood told English-speaking media.

The City of Winnipeg also chose this option for environmental reasons.
