Eight more picks for the Canadians

The work of Kent Hughes and his gang in the National Hockey League draft is far from over. The Montreal Canadiens have eight more decisions to make on the second day of Thursday’s amateur auction in Nashville.

However, barring a swap, fans will have to hold out ahead of the next Habs pick, which is only scheduled for Round 3.

The second round of the repechage will be broadcast from 11am on TVA Sports and on TVA Sports Direct.

In fact, the CH traded their 37th pick with the Colorado Avalanche, among others, to get Alex Newhook. He therefore does not have a say in the second ballot.

Gabriel Perreault is the only Quebec player selected in Nashville so far, but teams could quickly remedy the situation in the second round by signing forwards Ethan Gauthier and Mathieu Cataford or defender Étienne Morin.

The enigmatic but very talented Andrew Cristall could not find a buyer either. This young BC winger has 95 WHL points this season.

Defender Lukas Dragicevic and US striker Gavin Brindley are also particularly in focus.

In the first round, no goalkeeper found a buyer. Carson Bjarnason, Michael Hrabal and Trey Augustine were quick to hear their names.
