A day after the unveiling of the 2023 Corolla hatchback, Toyota Canada is sharing details of the hybrid version of the 2023 Corolla.
The 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid starts at $26,090 in Canada and is available in four trim levels. Notable items for 2023 include three all-wheel drive versions, two new S-Line versions – SE and XSE – a new Toyota Multimedia system and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.
Cyril Dimitris, vice president of Toyota Canada, summarizes the improvements to the Corolla Hybrid: “This year we’ve enhanced it with sportier options, new four-wheel drive models and upgrades to connectivity and safety technologies that characterize the Corolla Hybrid. »
The Corolla Hybrid has a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine that, when combined with two motors and a CVT (continuously variable transmission), delivers 134 hp. The most important figure, however, is the combined consumption of 4.5 liters per 100 km/h, which is possible thanks to the self-charging hybrid system used.
New this year, Toyota is introducing optional all-wheel drive in three versions of the Corolla Hybrid, which should appeal to Canadian consumers as winter approaches.
The new S-Line models aim to add a touch of sportiness to the range. They offer exterior and interior design upgrades as well as other upgrades.

S-Line models get the Toyota multimedia system, a first for the Corolla hybrid. This new connectivity service provides access to vehicle health reports, warning light notifications and maintenance schedules.
Users also benefit from remote functions and monitoring (engine start/stop, doors lock/unlock, vehicle location, guest driver monitoring, window status) as well as Safety Connect functions (automatic collision detection notification, stolen vehicle location, emergency call button and advanced roadside assistance).
Drive Connect then adds cloud-based navigation with Destination Assist, while Toyota’s smart assistant allows the driver to control many functions, such as the audio and climate system, by voice command.
New this year, all Corolla Hybrids are also equipped with the new generation of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes Traffic Sign Assist, Pre-Collision System, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning Assist with Steering Assist, full-range dynamic cruise control and automatic high beam.
Other standard safety features include the Toyota Star Safety system, 10 airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system and a blind spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert.
