When you’re in the early stages of a relationship or you’re a newly wed, it’s hard to imagine that feeling you get every time you look at your partner, let alone share an intimate moment, will ever be lost. But the reality is that this does happen. It doesn’t necessarily die, but truthfully it does fade. Within my close circle of girlfriends we are all in varying stages of relationships. Some have been married for many years and have children, others married only a few years and then there are those who are blissfully dating, some seriously and others not so.
It doesn’t matter at which stage you are in, everyone knows or remembers what those first few months or years of a relationship feel like. It’s butterflies, it’s unexpected gifts, it’s spontaneous date nights or weekend getaways and it’s constantly feeling flushed and excited. Dating is so important in a relationship and is something that shouldn’t end just because you’ve been together for years. One must continue to Date your Mate.
